چکیده

We are concerned with fast methods for the numerical implementation of the direct and inverse scattering problems for a perfectly conducting obstacle. The scattering problem is usually reduced to a single uniquely solvable modified combined-field integral equation (MCFIE). For the numerical solution of the M-CFIE we propose a new high-order spectral algorithm by transporting this equation on the unit sphere via the Piola transform. The inverse problem is formulated as a nonlinear least squares problem for which the iteratively regularized Gauss-Newton method is applied to recover an approximate solution. Numerical experiments are presented in the special case of star-shaped obstacles.

Reconstruction of a Perfectly Conducting Obstacle Coated with a Thin Dielectric Layer

We consider the inverse scattering problem consisting in the identification of a perfectly conducting obstacle coated with a thin layer of a dielectric material from few far field measurements at a fixed frequency. We propose in this talk an iterative procedure to retrieve the scatterer and the coating. Solving the forward problem is computationally expensive in this case and we shall use an ap...

On the Study of the Electromagnetic Scattering by Large Obstacle Based on the Method of Auxiliary Sources

We consider fast and accurate solutions of scattering problems by large perfectly conducting objects (PEC) formulated by an optimization of the Method of Auxiliary Sources (MAS). We present various techniques used to reduce the total computational cost of the scattering problem. The first technique is based on replacing the object by an array of finite number of small (PEC) object with the same...

Buckling of Doubly Clamped Nano-Actuators in General form Through Spectral Meshless Radial Point Interpolation (SMRPI)

The present paper is devoted to the development of a kind of spectral meshless radial point interpolation (SMRPI) technique in order to obtain a reliable approximate solution for buckling of nano-actuators subject to different nonlinear forces. To end this aim, a general type of the governing equation for nano-actuators, containing integro-differential terms and nonlinear forces is considered. ...

Integral Equation Methods in Inverse Obstacle Scattering with a Generalized Impedance Boundary Condition

The inverse problem under consideration is to reconstruct the shape of an impenetrable two-dimensional obstacle with a generalized impedance boundary condition from the far field pattern for scattering of time-harmonic acoustic or E-polarized electromagnetic plane waves. We propose an inverse algorithm that extends the approach suggested by Johansson and Sleeman [10] for the case of the inverse...

Impedance of Small Obstacles and Rough Surfaces

We calculate the longitudinal impedance for small obstacles of arbitrary shape located on the surface of a round perfectly conducting pile. Calculations are carried out in a small{angle approximation that assumes a smallness of the angle between the surface of the obstacle and the unperturbed surface of the pipe. As an illustration of the accuracy of this approach, we compare the impedance of t...
